Orange Money Africa was a Greenfield initiative for the EMEA region, combining banking and commerce into a unified digital experience. Traditionally, the market relied on older USSD technology for basic transactions. However, the increasing availability of 5G technology enabled the introduction of more advanced functionality for users.
As Lead UI Designer on the initiative, I contributed across all project phases—from defining the initial scope and proposition to delivering the proof-of-concept phase to secure the project budget. I collaborated closely with international product owners, UX designers, architects, and development teams through to the build stage.

Through ongoing customer research, we iterated rapidly, integrating specific cultural norms into new experiences to provide reassurance and confidence to users.
A native Android application, we developed intuitive customer experiences that simply integrated targeted upsell opportunities, enhancing overall user engagement.
I also worked on a parallel work stream promoting a dedicated banking application for the same EMEA market from the initial awareness campaign through to the day to day web presence.
